LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — If Orlando City’s 2-0 victory over Wilmington Hammerheads meant extending their unbeaten run in USL PRO to 17 games, then it signified something different for head coach Adrian Heath.
OCSC topped the Hammerheads on Saturday night in front of 4,919 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. However, for Heath the match revealed his sights on ending his final USL season unbeaten.
“Only everyday. I believe this group can do it,” Heath said. “It’s something I’ve spoke about. I know that if we play the way we can, this team is capable of going undefeated. Whether we can do it is another thing, but I believe we can. That’s something certainly as this run continues I’ll keep reminding them about because that would be some achievement if we could do it.”
Heath reminded reporters that it doesn’t matter what league you play in, and finishing the season unbeaten would be a landmark given the fact that not many teams have accomplished such a feat.
Orlando City look to keep the dream alive when they visit the Sacramento Republic on Thursday.
